Germ Guardian Review & Giveaway w/ Achoo! Allergy

When I started to suffer from allergies, I took a pill and coped. When I began to see evidence of my dog’s allergies -after multiple trips to the vet & several rounds of antibiotics for ear infections, coughing and sneezing I ruled out that the problem was bacterial. I turned to AchooAllergy.com for help with the allergies that was not only a nuisance but an expensive problem. They not only provided me with an amazing air purifier to ease my suffering but will be helping a lucky winner out as well!

Here’s the deal, I had never suffered from serious allergies before I moved to Chicago. A few months ago though, after months of buying allergy medication, waking up with headaches and several vet trips, both my pug and I were pretty miserable. As a frugal college student I can see why some folks would be reticent to invest in air quality equipment and a good air purifier- but how much did I spend on pain relievers, allergy medicine, trips to the vet and wasted productivity?

Many of us are unaware at how prevalent mold can be in our living space (especially if you’re in an old building like I am) or that the average home houses millions of dust mites that live in beds, couches and carpeting that wreak havoc year round.

I’m all about saving money, but when it comes to your health, a small investment of an air purifier, humidifier or mattress cover will save you money and suffering in the long run.

I have an old mattress and live in an affordable (read: cheap) old apartment that is stuffy in the midwest winters and yikes- black mold was discovered in the building. When a roomie of mine cooks something fragrant the apartment will smell of it far after the dinner’s over. It’s frugal but sometimes it’s not fun!

I would like to try the air purifier. Living in the snow belt means that we are forced to be inside a lot during the winter months, without a source for fresh air. That means that lots of dust collects in the air and is blown through the heating ducts in our house. I try to keep them clean, and dust mop as much as possible, but we are still constantly sneezing. I’d also like to try the steamer, just to get ALL the germies out of my curtains and furniture.
